Medicom Carbomer Eye Gel 0.2% w/w is a moisturing lubricating ophthalmic gel formulated for the relief of dry eye symptoms such as irritation, grittiness, burning or foreign body sensation. Made by Medicom Healthcare Ltd (UK) and containing Carbomer 980 at 0.2% w/w, this gel forms a protective film over the ocular surface to reduce evaporation and enhance comfort.
The 10 g tube format makes it convenient for day or night use when ordinary drops do not suffice.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Higher-viscosity gel formula: Carbomer 0.2% creates a lasting lubricating layer on the eye, offering more durable relief than standard drops.
  • Relieves dry, tired or irritated eyes: Particularly useful for people with screen exposure, air-conditioning, contact lens wear or reduced tear production.
  • Suitable for day or night use: Gel format means fewer applications required, less blurring during wear (although transient blur may occur).
  • Trusted brand & standard concentration: Recognised in prescribing lists (Carbomer 0.2% w/w – 10g) by NHS / formulary sources.

How to Use

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly.
  2. Remove the cap of the tube.
  3. Tilt your head backwards and gently pull down the lower eyelid to form a pocket.
  4. Apply a thin strip of the gel into the lower eyelid pocket — avoid the tip touching the eye or skin.
  5. Blink a few times to spread the gel over the eye surface.
  6. Use 3-4 times daily or as directed by your healthcare professional.
  7. If wearing contact lenses, remove them before use and wait the recommended time before reinserting.
  8. For best results, apply before bedtime if dryness is worse overnight.

Why Choose This Gel?

  • Gel viscosity = longer contact time on the ocular surface compared to drops → better protection and hydration.
  • Ideal for users whose dry eye symptoms are persistent or are not sufficiently relieved by drops alone.
  • Simple packaging and dosing for home use, travel, or as part of a dry-eye routine.
  • Backed by clinical formulation and widely stocked in ophthalmic formularies.
